Headstand Pranayama (breathing exercise) and Meditation course 8:00pm – every Wednesday 8.15 to 9.30.

Headstand in yoga is one of the most challenging posture. Sometime fear of falling stops from attempting to pratice the Headstand.  Learning to do headstand also teaches you how to confront our fears and letting go of our fears.

Benefit of headstand:  The headstand lifts your spirits wonderfully when  something is drawing you down. Practicing headstand is also a morning wake-up call.  It increases the digestive fire, counters depression and fills you with enthusiasm for meeting your day.

Pranayama: (breathing exercise)  Most people have forgotten how to breath properly.  Pranayama will teach you how to control the breath thus learning how to control your mind.

Since your state of mind reflects in the way you breath, by controlling the breath you can learn how to control the state of your mind.

MeditationMeditation teaches you how to keep your thinking as positive as possible specially on days when where your peace of mind is shattered by anger and unhappiness.  By using simple techniques you can train your mind to a state of concentration.

YOGA IN THE SCHOOL

THE DISIPLINE OF YOGA PROVIDES GUIDANCE FOR A LIFE TIME. The SERENITY OF MIND THAT YOGA ENGENDERS AND PHYSICAL VITALITY AND SUPPLENESS IT CREATES, ARE IMPORTANT TO YOUNG CHILDREN. FOR CHILDREN YOGA OFFERS A WAY OF MAINTAINING GOOD HEALTH THROUGHOUT THE LIFE. WITH THEIR NATURAL RESILIENCE AND SENSE OF BALANCE THE POSTURES COMES EASILY TO THEM.

TEENAGERS WILL FIND BENEFIT IN ALL ASPECTS OF PRATICE. ANY FEELING OF SELF-CONSCIOUSNESS WILL BE REPLACED BY A NEW SENSE OF CONFIDENCE.

THE TECHNIQUES OF PRANAYAMA(BREATHING EXERCISE) AND RELAXATION ARE EFFECTIVE IN HELPING TO HANDLE THE EMOTIONAL PROBLEMS THAT ARE PART AND PARCLE OF GROWING UP.

MY TEACHING OF YOGA IS BASED ON 4 MAIN PRINCIPAL OF YOGA.

  1. PROPER RELAXATION: TO RELEASE THE TENSION IN THE MUSCLES AND TEACHES ONE TO CONSERVE MORE ENERGY AND LET GO OF ANY WORRIES AND FEARS.

  2. PROPER EXERSICE (POSTURES) TO KEEP THE BODY FIT AND HEALTHY AND TO EXERCISE EACH PARTS OF THE BODY INCLUDING SPINE AND JOINTS.

  3. PROPER BREATHING: MEANS BREATHING FULLY AND MAKING USE OF ALL OF THE LUNGS TO INCREASE INTAKE OF OXYGEN. YOGA BREATHING OR PRANAYAMA TEACHES HOW TO RECHARGE THE BODY AND CONTROL MENTAL STATE BY REGULATING THE FLOW OF OXYGEN.

  4. POSITIVE THINKING AND MEDITATION TO HELP REMOVE NEGATIVE THOUGHTS AND STILL THE MIND.
